Task

To produce five welcome and orientation panels for car parks in the ‘Waterfall Country’ of Brecon Beacons National Park. The panels explain the features of the area and convey essential safety information for visiting the waterfalls. Each panel is framed in oak with a carved waterfall sculpture and engraved evocative text. We worked with Quitewrite and Touchwood Design.

Process

We worked closely with the Park and other organisations to research themes and stories and develop scripts that evoke the character of the area. We commissioned a sculptor to produce panel frames and carve waterfall and wildlife motifs. We also worked with a Welsh translator to produce bilingual text.
