Process

This was an exciting project to explore the diversity of art in Wales, including painting, literature and music. We worked in consortium with Touchstone Heritage Management Consultants and Creu-ad, and an expert adviser, Peter Lord, and consulted widely with organisations and individuals with experience of the artistic heritage of Wales.  We produced a plan with themes and storylines, and a sample ‘visitor package’ that users could follow to show how art and landscape could be linked together in interpretive media.

Benefits

• The process resulted in a comprehensive compendium of sites and resources that potential providers of interpretation can use to create interpretation that links landscape and art.

• We recommend a selection of media and approaches that would help to bring alive the stories of how artists have been inspired by the Welsh landscape.

• The plan will help potential providers of interpretation to seek funding.
