Process
This interpretation plan tells the stories of how Wales became the first nation in the World to have more people working in industry than in agriculture. It provides a ‘toolkit’ of themes, storylines and potential interpretive mechanisms that can help anyone to produce interpretive media on the industrial revolution. We worked in consortium with Touchstone Heritage Management Consultants and Letha Consultancy and consulted with industrial heritage organisations and other relevant bodies in Wales.
Benefits
• Organisations wishing to bid for funding from Cadw to produce interpretation on the industrial heritage of Wales have a comprehensive resource to help them tell the stories of Wales as the World’s first industrial nation.
• The plan identifies the innovators and entrepreneurs, the social reformers, the many industrial processes and products, and the impacts industry has had on society and the landscape.
• The plan will help potential providers of interpretation to seek funding.
