Task

To develop a Conservation Plan, Audience Development Plan and an Access Plan for the Stroud Valleys in Gloucestershire. The documents identified the heritage value of this ancient wool-producing area and its potential for environmental improvement and increased community and visitor appreciation.

Process

We held consultation workshops and meetings with organisations and the community to develop plans that had a high ‘ownership’ from stakeholders.

Benefits

  • The plans accompanied a bid to HLF for a Landscape Partnership Scheme
  • Although the bid was unsuccessful the documents are used to guide environmental project work in the valleys
