Task
Devising and facilitating the implementation of model sustainable tourism strategies for the National and Forest Parks of Romania, in conjunction with the World Bank and the Romanian National Forest Administration. This work involved consultations with stakeholders of all kinds, in-depth staff training, and the development of linked conservation, rural tourism development and marketing strategies.
Process
The key processes involved the training of Romanian Park staff and the empowerment and education of local communities and businesses. Techniques including public meetings and seminars, staff training workshops, the production of a dedicated set of background materials, study visits and collaborative research.
